Estone Technology of Holland says its owner and a business partner bought Toledo’s tallest building in late August and that its headquarters will move in. The county’s own record had not caught up by Thursday afternoon. The Lucas County Auditor’s parcel file listed the tower, parcel 1455952, to One SeaGate Partners LLC, and the ground under it, parcel 1455950, to SeaGate Land Partners LLC, both with a mailing address at 250 Broadway in New York. No transfer was reflected and no price was on file. The recorder’s office can run ahead of the auditor’s layer, so the absence of a deed there is not proof that none exists. Bing Li, Estone’s president, said in the release that the company was glad to begin the building’s next chapter and to contribute to the revitalization of downtown. In June the company announced a new factory and headquarters in Holland to serve government, defense, aerospace and industrial customers. Three months later the headquarters is going downtown, and the release does not say what becomes of the Holland plan or how many employees move. The plans for the tower, as the company describes them, are a fitness center, a yoga and wellness studio, a golf simulator, banquet and event space, more dining and expanded parking, with smart security, connected building systems and robotic cleaners. No timeline was given. The tower last sold in August 2007, for $40 million in cash, to AmTrust Realty.
