Rep. Erika White, a Democrat from Springfield Township, is finishing her first term. Republican Ian Chamberlin of South Toledo wants the seat; it is his first run for office, The Blade reported. The paper sent both the same three questions on Sept. 28 and 29, with a deadline of Oct. 16, and each two questions of their own. Neither answered. These were the shared questions:La representante Erika White, demócrata de Springfield Township, termina su primer periodo.
House Bills 186 and 335 (November 2025) limited how fast property-tax bills can rise. What should the House do next on property taxes, and what should it not do?Los proyectos de ley 186 y 335 de la Cámara (noviembre de 2025) limitaron la rapidez con que pueden subir las facturas del impuesto a la propiedad.

White won the seat in 2024. She came to it from the labor movement: at AT&T, the old Ohio Bell, she served as both vice president and president of her union local, Communications Workers of America Local 4319, and she is vice president of the Greater Northwest Ohio AFL-CIO, according to her House biography. She sits on four House committees, among them Commerce and Labor. One of her bills is law: House Bill 311, written with Republican Jim Hoops of Napoleon, makes the third full week of May EMS Week in Ohio, and Gov. Mike DeWine signed it in June. Another, House Bill 284, which would require American-made iron and steel on state-funded projects, has passed the House. Getting back on the ballot took a detour: the dates on her declaration of candidacy were wrong, a clerical error, she told The Blade, so she withdrew her petitions and ran in the May primary as a write-in. Her campaign website says: “Workers are the backbone of the economy, not Wall Street.”White ganó el escaño en 2024.
