I think some people still expect me to stick to the classic country and gospel music I grew up playing. I still love every bit of that music, but people evolve, especially someone who's been in this industry since childhood and is still figuring out who she is. What I play will always grow with me, and I'll stay true to that even if it's not everyone's cup of tea.Creo que algunas personas todavía esperan que me limite al country clásico y al góspel que tocaba de niña. Honestly, hanging out with my band always makes me feel right at home. For me, it would have been Dolly. It has always been my dream to sing harmony with her, and I think about that more and more these days. I didn't have many boundaries with fans when I was younger, but now that I'm an adult, I find the people who come to my shows treat me exactly how I'd want to be treated, like a human who just wants to connect with them through my music. I've learned that the more you set boundaries and start being yourself instead of catering to everyone else, the more you find an audience that loves and respects you.
