Adrian wants to help homeless people get to family, rehab or other support outside the city. The city commission voted 7-0 Nov. 2 to make a pilot called “Find a Way Home” one of its three short-term goals. The resolution sets no cost, names no one to run it and gives no start date. Officials pointed to Kalamazoo’s “Finding Your Way Home” as an example. Commissioner Charles Moore asked whether beds that open at the Share the Warmth shelter would just fill again. They “probably would be,” Acting City Administrator Ted Andrzejewski replied, the Daily Telegram reported. Adrian's city commission approved up to $103,228 on Nov. 2 to clean and repair two of the city's wells. They are wells two and four, in the wellfield on Hamilton Highway on the west side. Crews would pull the pumps, check the pipes and couplings for wear, clean the wells and their screens, then put in new pumps and motors and test both wells.La comisión municipal de Adrian aprobó el 2 de noviembre hasta 103,228 dólares para limpiar y reparar dos pozos de la ciudad. Four companies bid. Peerless-Midwest of Ionia was lowest. Utilities Director William Sadler wrote that the bids came in higher than the city expected, because cleaning costs have risen and the pumps and motors have to be replaced. The city has $66,701 set aside for well maintenance. The rest, $36,527, would come out of savings from the Fairgrounds water tower job.Cuatro empresas presentaron ofertas. Lenawee County's Essential Needs Drive takes donations through Nov. 30 for people without housing. What it wants most: warm bedding, winter clothing, backpacks and bus passes. New hygiene products and food are requested. Used coats and bedding are welcome if they are clean and washed.La Campaña de Necesidades Esenciales del condado de Lenawee recibe donaciones hasta el 30 de noviembre para personas sin vivienda. The county lists eight drop-off points, among them Housing Help of Lenawee at 307 E. Church St. and the Adrian Senior Center at 327 Erie St. in Adrian, the senior center at 206 S. Lane St. in Blissfield, and the senior center at 101 Talbot St. in Addison.
