Every project I make feels like a real snapshotof who I am in that moment,so for one thing I’m just a very different personthan I was when I wrote ‘Long Time Coming’ and ‘The Good Parts.’Cada proyecto que hago se siente como una foto realde quién soy en ese momento,así que, para empezar, soy una persona muy distintade la que era cuando escribí ‘Long Time Coming’ y ‘The Good Parts’.

But I also feel like an EP is sort of like a short film:you want to tell a complete storybut you have to be expedient about it.Pero también siento que un EP es algo así como un cortometraje:quieres contar una historia completa,pero tienes que hacerlo rápido.

This record gave me a little bit of extra timeto sit with the ideas and themes and flesh them out;in some cases I even got to exploremy conflicting feelings about the same topic.Este disco me dio un poco más de tiempopara quedarme con las ideas y los temas y desarrollarlos;en algunos casos, hasta pude explorarmis sentimientos encontrados sobre un mismo tema.

I’m a piano player who wishes she played a different instrument,so since I’m always writing on the pianothere are times where I can’t pull offwhat I’m hearing in my head.Soy pianista, pero quisiera tocar otro instrumento,y como siempre compongo en el piano,a veces no logro sacarlo que escucho en mi cabeza.

The song ‘Either Way’ almost ended up on the cutting room floorbecause on the piano it didn’t sound at all like what I hoped for,but once I brought it to my partner (Chris DuPont)and told him what I was envisioning for the guitarit clickedand I fell in love with it all over again.La canción ‘Either Way’ casi se queda fuera,porque en el piano no sonaba para nada como yo esperaba,pero cuando se la llevé a mi pareja (Chris DuPont)y le dije lo que imaginaba para la guitarra,todo encajóy me volví a enamorar de ella.

The title comes from the final track on the record, ‘Invisible.’El título viene de la última canción del disco, ‘Invisible’.

I like an album to be dynamicso I certainly want there to be moments that ask you to lean in,but I think my favorite moments are the onesthat feel emotional and catharticand have you bopping along at the same time.Me gusta que un álbum sea dinámico,así que sin duda quiero que haya momentos que te pidan acercarte,pero creo que mis momentos favoritos son losque se sienten emotivos y catárticosy al mismo tiempo te ponen a moverte.

I think that the way my songs approach most situations from both angles(here’s what I’m feeling and here’s how I was hurt,but here’s how I imagine the other party may have been feeling or thinking),that’s at least partially due to my being raised in this part of the country.Creo que la forma en que mis canciones abordan casi todas las situaciones desde los dos lados(esto es lo que siento y así me lastimaron,pero así me imagino que la otra persona pudo haberse sentido o lo que pudo haber pensado)se debe, al menos en parte, a que crecí en esta parte del país.

I also think that Michigan has a really special music sceneand the stuff I’m making is definitely informedby the community I’m surrounded by.También creo que Michigan tiene una escena musical muy especial,y lo que hago sin duda está marcadopor la comunidad que me rodea.

I’m so proud of the studio versions of these songs,but this record became more of a rock record than I even expectedand I think the experience of being in the roomwhen the drums open upand the guitars take offis a different kind of special.Estoy muy orgullosa de las versiones de estudio de estas canciones,pero este disco terminó siendo más rockero de lo que yo misma esperaba,y creo que estar en la salacuando entran de lleno las bateríasy despegan las guitarrases algo especial de otra manera.
