Rick Lowe turns a stock ticker into art about Black wealth and opportunity at Ann Arbor’s University of Michigan Museum of Art. The 40-foot rooftop LED ticker displays data on Black well-being from two University of Michigan research efforts, the Panel Study of Income Dynamics and the Anti-Black Index. More than 20 new works inside, the culmination of Lowe’s three-year residency at the Institute for Social Research, turn eight years of his research into visual form. Black Wall Street Journey is free and runs through Jan. 24.
