Daniel Zott produced and recorded the 10-song album just north of Detroit and co-wrote three of its songs, “Rewind,” “If You Want It” and the title track, according to the album’s credits. What is “Light Again” about, and what changed for you between “Miracle” and this record?¿De qué trata “Light Again” y qué cambió para usted entre “Miracle” y este disco?
“Light Again” covers the second half of my 20s. I think I had a better understanding of how a record should be shaped, and put myself to a higher standard of what songs should be kept as ideas, versus what songs should be taken to the studio and shared with the world.“Light Again” abarca la segunda mitad de mis 20 años. Creo que entendía mejor cómo debía tomar forma un disco, y me exigí más sobre qué canciones debían quedarse como ideas y cuáles llevar al estudio y compartir con el mundo.
Where and with whom did you make it, and how long did it take?¿Dónde y con quién lo hizo, y cuánto tardó?
Dan Zott produced the record, and we recorded it over the last 2.5 years in metro Detroit.Dan Zott produjo el disco, y lo grabamos durante los últimos 2.5 años en el área metropolitana de Detroit.
Which song would you play for someone hearing you for the first time, and why?¿Qué canción le pondría a alguien que lo escucha por primera vez, y por qué?
“On the Map”! It’s the easiest listen.¡“On the Map”! Es la más fácil de escuchar.

What should people expect at the Magic Bag show with PHABIES and The Rusty Snails?¿Qué puede esperar la gente del concierto en el Magic Bag con PHABIES y The Rusty Snails?
To walk away thinking of it as one of the top three shows they’ve been to.Irse pensando que fue uno de los tres mejores conciertos a los que han ido.
How has Detroit shaped the way you write?¿Cómo ha influido Detroit en su manera de escribir?
I think without really trying to make it happen, Midwest culture has made its way into my songwriting pretty often. I write about freeways, metroparks, the Great Lakes, cottages up north, etc.Creo que, sin proponerme realmente, la cultura del Medio Oeste se ha metido bastante en mis canciones. Escribo sobre autopistas, parques metropolitanos, los Grandes Lagos, cabañas en el norte, etc.
