The work put several things back where they started. The tabernacle and the Blessed Sacrament return to the centre of the sanctuary beneath the baldacchino; the bishop’s chair, the cathedra, goes back to its historic place; and the baptismal font returns to the original baptistry. The cathedral also got new lighting and, for the first time, air conditioning — which is as much about the artwork and the Skinner organ as about the congregation.La obra devolvió varias cosas a su sitio original. The addition is five vaults in the narthex painted with the Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary, which were not part of the devotion when the cathedral was built.
